I've launched a new personal project over at Mark Cannon Photography.
I have an interest in humans, what makes us tick, what drives our behaviours, why we sometimes work against our own best interests.
I wanted to capture moments when, despite wanting to mask our emotions and feelings, we were not able to completely hide what was happening in our heads. A mask was in place, yet it was ineffective. Our true self in that moment was visible; distorted maybe but still giving away our true state of mind and heart.
This project explores from the perspective of an ineffective mask the different masks that people wear in the course of a day that act as a social disguise and help them to get through a variety of situations.
What are the emotional masks do you wear?
What are you concealing?
How do masks help you in your life?
